Earbuds Exploded View Animation – Revealing Every Internal Detail
The Challenge
Modern consumer electronics are compact, complex and highly engineered. However, traditional photography cannot show what makes them work.
The goal was to clearly demonstrate the internal components of a wireless earbud while maintaining a premium, high-end aesthetic.
Building the Product in 3D
To achieve this, we created a detailed 3D model of the earbuds and their internal components.
Each element was modelled individually, including:
Outer casing
Speaker drivers
Circuit boards
Battery units
Internal wiring
As a result, we could separate and animate each part with precision.
Why CGI Was Essential
Because the components are small and tightly integrated, filming a physical teardown would not deliver the same clarity.
CGI offered several advantages:
Complete control over camera movement
Perfect lighting of internal components
Ability to isolate and emphasise key features
Clean, high-impact visual presentation
Furthermore, once built, the 3D asset can be reused for marketing, training and promotional content.
The Outcome
The final animation communicates complexity in a simple, visually engaging way.
By using a controlled exploded view sequence, the product’s engineering becomes a visual selling point rather than hidden detail.
